The recently renovated David "DC" & Susan Colt Athletic Training Room provides rehabilitation and relaxation for Northwest student-athletes. Among the renovations are: a six-person Jacuzzi style whirlpool, brand new rehabilitation equipment, four-person modular taping station embossed with the bearcat logo, and nine split-leg, cabinet-style treatment tables also embossed with the bearcat logo. The training center also offers a full-time athletic training staff.
The training center was dedicated to Colt in September of 2009. Colt was the head athletic trainer for 27 years before he became an athletic trainer at the Air Force Academy in 2008. Among Colt's achievements are four Hall of Fame inductions. He was inducted into the National Athletic Trainers' Association Hall of Fame, Missouri Athletic Trainers' Association Sports Medicine Hall of Fame, Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, and the Mid-America Athletic Trainers' association Hall of Fame.
