KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State University baseball team placed 18 student athletes on the MIAA's Academic honor roll.
Kevin Handzlik earned MIAA Scholar Athlete honors for being named to the All-MIAA team while maintaining at least a 3.50 GPA. To be considered for the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, student athletes must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA with at least two terms at the MIAA institution.
Handzlik has a 3.83 GPA in Accounting. This season, he earned All-MIAA honorable mention accolades, leading the team with a .344 batting average. Appearing primarily at first base, Handzlik appeared in 45 games, making 42 starts. He drove in 33 runs and crossed the plate 23 times.
