MIAA Press ReleaseKANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State University baseball team was seeded 12th in the 2016 MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll which was released by the conference office on Friday. The poll is composed of votes from the MIAA's 14 head coaches. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team. Missouri Southern received 11 first place votes and topped the poll with 166 points. Emporia State received 152 points and one first place vote. Central Missouri was third with 141 points and two first place votes.
Northwest went 20-28 overall last year and was 15-21 in MIAA play. Junior

Nick Gotta all return to the Bearcat roster after earning All-MIAA honors last year. Northwest begins the 2016 season at Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tenn., on Saturday, Feb. 6. The Bearcats' home opener is on Friday, Feb. 26, in the MIAA opener against Northeastern State.
